This beautiful majolica bowl was made in Italy for Tiffany and Company. The red clay was covered in a white tin glaze and then hand painted with a floral design in an Imari palette of cobalt blue and iron red. The hand formed, applied handle on each side was painted in shades of blue. The bottom has a dry foot ring that reveals the clay color and is hand signed in iron red: "HAND PAINTED FOR TIFFANY & CO. IN ITALY."
The bowl is in superb condition with no damage, no stains, no crazing. It measures 6 1/4 inches from handle to handle, 2 1/2 inches high and weighs 13 ounces. It's a lovely bowl to use or simply display and admire.
