Limited Edition Lithograph Native American Woman by Frances Reust

$195.00

This is a handsome limited-edition lithograph of an original pen and ink drawing done on paper by Frances Reust (1939-2021). Frances was a talented artist who worked in many mediums, including painting a mural for the Museum of Northwest Colorado that measured 11 feet by 16 feet. She was curator of that Museum for 5 years and taught art classes at Northwestern College in Craig, Colorado.

Surrounded by a 3/4 inch wide black wood frame, the beautiful Native American woman gazes to her right in profile. There is a narrow white matte with a black inner edge, while Mrs. Reust has drawn a black line around the portrait that ends in a feather with beads. The original drawing was signed in script 'Frances Reust © 1987.' Below the two pottery pieces at the bottom right, she signed it again in pencil '7/200 Frances Reust © 1987.'

The framed measurements are 22 1/2 inches tall by 17 1/2 inches wide. The dust paper on the back is intact, with the label of the framer, State of the Art in Traverse City, Michigan, at the bottom. (They opened for business in 1985 and are still there.) There is a sturdy wire attached to hang the 4 pound artwork. The Plexiglas and frame are in excellent condition; the paper is lightly foxed, able to be seen if viewed quite close. Whether in the midst of a Native American themed room or a room decorated in modern furnishings, this original framed print is right at home...and very eye-catching.

Please note: The paper the lithograph is on is white...not off-white.
