For forty years, John Bundy (1949-2022) carved his famous decoys and his wife Valarie painted them. They founded Bundy and Company in 1980 in Noblesville, Indiana. Their decoys are in collections throughout the world, including that of King Abdullah of Jordan, and they have been displayed at the White House. We've included a photo of John and Valarie, as well as John at the Cabela's store in Noblesville, where they named their restaurant Bundy's Grill.

This is a blue winged teal drake duck decoy. Its amber eyes are inset in its bluish-gray, shapely head with its white crescent and black beak. The head is in the upright, alert position and its tail is upturned. It's flat-bottomed, so no stand is needed (ours is not included...sorry).

This Bundy decoy is from their Classic Collection, solid maple with its original matte paint, and marked on the bottom with the Bundy Company stamp. The decoy measures 12 1/2 inches long, 5 3/4 inches tall to the top of its head and about 4 1/2 inches across the breast. It weighs 1 pound, 3 ounces and is in very good condition with a few tiny nicks and dents but no paint loss, damage or repairs.

This vintage Bundy decoy with its elegant lines and beautiful paint is a great find for the decoy lover.
