This group of four antique pewter porringers are handsome and display so well, with their warm, aged patinas and scrolled handles. This handle design with its raised edges is classic Italian. We have shown in our photos the front bowl followed by the underside of each. The marks on each, worn and difficult to decipher, appear to vary, which might make this a marriage of assembled pieces. Note the lack of the words "Made in Italy," dating them prior to 1921, when international import/export regulations were enacted.

Each porringer measures 7 3/4 inches across the handles and 5 1/4 inches across the bowl itself. They are 1 1/4 inches high and weigh about 7 ounces each. As you can see, they have fine scratches in the bowls, but no damage like dents or pitting and no repairs. They're a nice find for the collector or decorator.
