For forty years, John Bundy (1949-2022) carved his famous decoys and his wife Valarie painted them. Bundy and Company was founded in 1980 in Noblesville, Indiana. Their decoys are in collections throughout the world, including that of King Abdullah of Jordan, and they have been displayed at the White House. We've included a photo of John and Valarie, as well as John at the Cabela's store in Noblesville, where they named their restaurant Bundy's Grill.

This is a ring-necked drake duck decoy, the only one we've had in 50+ years as dealers. The species is named for the chestnut-reddish ring around the base of the male's black neck. It has a distinctive peaked head shape and a white ring on its gray bill. The glass eyes are inset and its head is in the upright, alert position.

This Bundy decoy is from their Classic Collection, solid maple with its original beautiful paint, and marked on the bottom with the Bundy Company stamp. The decoy measures 12 inches long (an actual ring-necked duck is 15-18 inches long), 6 1/4 inches tall to the top of its head and about 5 inches across the breast. It weighs 3/4 of a pound and is in very good condition, used but not abused, with tiny, scattered nicks and dents but no damage or repairs.
