Vintage Large Parrot Statue Cast Iron on Wooden Base

This handsome cast iron figure of a parrot is patinated in mottled colors of brown, black and gray. The details are true to life: the curved beak; the five toes, three pointing forward and two backward for climbing; the long lower tailfeathers and the outlined eyes.

The parrot is attached to the black-painted wooden base with two inset screws on the bottom of the base that have rusted in place. The length of the parrot beak to tail is 14 1/2 inches. It's 10 1/2 inches tall, including the 1/2 inch thick base, which measures 4 inches by 6 inches. The piece weighs 2 pounds, 10 ounces and is in excellent condition. It displays elegantly on your shelf or table.
